According to the WHO, fluoride can cause serious cavities, among other digestive and cognitive diseases.
When we were little, when visiting the dentist for some cavities, they even prescribed fluoride salt. They said that a small dose would help us prevent tooth decay, since it blocks any action of some bacteria, and it was even prescribed to cure other stomach diseases.
Colorless and soluble in water, fluoride is a salt that kills microorganisms in the digestive system; however, and according to the WHO, it can cause serious caries problems, among other digestive diseases. According to research, constant use of this compound weakens and damages tooth enamel, and wears down and weakens bones.
In addition, the excessive presence of fluoride in the body causes a reduction in the production of melatonin, a sleep-regulating hormone. The alteration of this organic substance causes greater absorption of aluminium in the brain, spreading toxicity in the body. The consequences are obvious: imbalances in cognitive development, decline in the immune system, the incidence of autoimmune diseases and the presence of hypothyroidism, among others.
The consumption of this chemical has even been associated with brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s or senile dementia. This is due to toxins (such as aluminium) found in fluoridated water.
A study shows that adding fluoride to water when it contains small amounts of aluminium, can cause severe destruction of brain cells in the area of learning and memory. The presence of fluoride increases the bioavailability of aluminium, causing its toxic appearance in the blood and in the brain.
